CITY INCOME TAX DUE DATE EXTENDED

by Chelsea Goodwin
Tuesday, March 23, 2021

The due date for Grayling City Income Taxes has been extended from April 30, 2021 to now June 1, 2021.  The due date has been extended after both Federal and State due dates were previously extended.  Tax payments can also be deferred to June 1 without penalties and interest.  This deferment applies to all taxpayers – including individuals, trusts & estates, corporations and other non-corporate tax filers as well as those who pay self-employment tax. This deferment does not apply to any withholding taxes.  Withholding payment due dates have not changed.

Taxpayers do not need to file any additional forms or call to qualify for this automatic tax filing and payment relief.  Individual taxpayers who need additional time to file beyond the new June 1 deadline, can request a filing extension by completing and submitting the extension form available here.  Extensions granted will still have a due date of November 1.  Additional income tax forms are available on the 'forms' page.

No penalty or interest will be assessed on tax due unless it was for failure to make estimated payments. At this time, estimated payment due dates have not been changed or moved but the City will update this as it gets information from the Internal Revenue Service.

Tax filers who have questions regarding this extension or their returns can email graylingtax@issi-central.com or call (989) 348-7750.
