Online reporting is available for certain non-emergency incidents that are not in progress, have no immediate threat to life or property, and occurred within the City of Grayling. Reports filed online are reviewed by Grayling Police Department personnel.

Types of Complaints Accepted Online

You may use online reporting for the following types of complaints:

  • Abandoned vehicle (tow company initiated)
  • Car crash on private property with no injuries (including parking lots)
  • Child custody violations (non-emergency)
  • Damage to business property
  • Damage to private property
  • Identity theft
  • Larceny from a vehicle
  • Larceny of gas (gas station)
  • Lost or found property
  • Retail fraud (businesses only)
  • Suspicious situations (non-emergency)
  • Theft (non-emergency)
  • Vandalism

When NOT to Use Online Reporting

Do not use online reporting for:

  • Emergencies (call 911)
  • Crimes in progress
  • Situations with a suspect on scene or nearby
  • Domestic violence incidents
  • Vehicle crashes on public roadways or any crash with injuries
  • Stolen vehicles
  • Lost or stolen firearms
  • Incidents that occurred outside the City of Grayling

Yes. After your report is submitted, it will be reviewed by a Grayling Police Department officer. You may be contacted by phone or email if additional information is needed.

Yes. Once the report is approved, you may request a copy by emailing police@cityofgrayling.org or calling (989) 348-4621 ext. 122.

When will someone review my report?

Reports are normally reviewed within a reasonable period; response times may vary based on call volume and staffing.

Can I file a report anonymously?

No. Online reporting requires accurate contact information so an officer can follow up if needed and properly document the incident.

Do online reports become part of official police records?

Yes. Approved online reports become part of official department records, just like reports taken by an officer in person.

What if I made a mistake in my online report?
